چکیده

Front Cover: In article number 2000520 by Myungeun Seo, Wonhee Lee, and co-workers, a cross-coupling reaction is utilized for polymer surface modification. Poly(chloro-p-xylylene) (parylene C) used as substrate in Pd-catalyzed Buchwald–Hartwig amination to install primary amine groups. Parylene films with microscale topography can be successfully modified chemically bonded fabricate transparent flexible microfluidic channels. The device compatible organic solvents high pressure.

Dynamically Programmable Parylene-c Bonding Layer Fluorescence for Re-writable Data Storage on a Microfluidic Chip

Wafer bonding using parylene-C to Si, SiO2 and SiN surfaces has recently been shown to enable high pressure-resistant microfluidic devices with metallization and CMOS-integration capability [1-3]. Here, we report characterization of intermediate parylene-C bonding layer fluorescence (iPBLF) and its use as an on-chip medium for data storage by dynamic programming of iPBLF intensity, using altern...

Programmable parylene-C bonding layer fluorescence for storing information on microfluidic chips.

We demonstrate data storage on glass/silicon microfluidic devices fabricated using parylene-C as a bonding layer. In particular, we report intermediate parylene-C bonding layer fluorescence (iPBLF) and its use as an on-chip medium for data storage by dynamic programming of iPBLF intensity, using alternating exposure of parylene-C to UV and Green light. This technique allows data on the microflu...

A Comparison between β-Cyclodextrin and Chitosan as Soft Organic Materials for Surface Modification of MWCNTs

In this paper, synthesized (raw) multi-walled carbon nanotube (rMWCNTs) surfaces were modified with chitosan and β-cyclodextrin using Chen’s soft cutting technique. Raw and surface modified multi-walled carbon nanotubes were observed by transmission electron microscope (TEM). The results showed that chitosan and β-cyclodextrin could attach to the outer surface of nanotubes, wrapping the nanotub...

Fabricating Parylene-C Shadow Masks for Applications in Short- Channel Top-Contact Carbon Nanotube Flexible Transistors

Flexible transistors with semiconducting carbon nanotubes offer better mobility and stability than current organic material transistors for applications in flexible display and sensor devices. With carbon nanotubes as the semiconducting material, the transistors offer a higher performance due to the extraordinary electrical properties of singlewalled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs). However, conventio...

Parylene C-Based Flexible Electronics for pH Monitoring Applications

Emerging materials in the field of implantable sensors should meet the needs for biocompatibility; transparency; flexibility and integrability. In this work; we present an integrated approach for implementing flexible bio-sensors based on thin Parylene C films that serve both as flexible support substrates and as active H(+) sensing membranes within the same platform. Using standard micro-fabri...
